Confession.
I did not work out a bit this week. Unless you count lugging around the 50 lb bags of Shutterbooth equipment for the two events I did. {Have I mentioned that I occasionally work for them, manning photobooths at events?} Dave and my plan is to hit it hard this week at the gym. We did this cleanse diet this week that just left us sapped for energy. But, it worked! {for the most part!}
I found it on Pinterest, and out of blogging courtesy would totally link back to the author’s site, but it isn’t there anymore!! So I thought I would share the picture with you, and if anyone can help me credit, leave me a comment and I will remedy the situation.
“Did it work?” you ask:
Day 1 {Fruit}: Today wasn’t bad….everytime I got hungry I made a smoothie. Thank God for frozen fruit and pineapple/strawberries to sweeten it up! Smoothie with a side of watermelon was weird for dinner though. Caffeine withdrawl.
Day 2 {Veggies}: Today started out rough. We had sautéed squash and zucchini (which I love, usually) and I had to choke it down at the breakfast table. Mind over matter……Rest of the day was fine, lots of salad. But wanted coffee. Bad.
Day 3 {Fruits and Veggies}: Best day yet. My caffeine headaches were gone, and having a smoothie for breakfast, salad for lunch and sautéed veggies for dinner was normal for me!
Day 4 {Bananas and Milk}: I am not a milk drinker. But drinking 1c with each banana, every two hours was not NEARLY as painful as I thought it would be. Dave complained of hunger {amidst his hatred for bananas}, but I honestly, wasn’t hungry all day.
Day 5 {Chicken and Tomatoes}: Eating 6 tomatoes today got kind of old, but Dave’s random spice rubs kept the chicken interesting. I’m used to eating weird non-breakfasty stuff for breakfast now. We used ground chicken and kind of stewed tomatoes and made chili!
Day 6 {Chicken and Veggies}: Completely normal day for me, with the exception of breakfast. Steamed some veggies to start the day, and had a hard time eating them at 7:30 am. Hit a plateau in my morning weigh-in….was the same for the past three days. Dave continues to lose.
Day 7 {The Soup}: Dave hated the soup. I hated it for breakfast, but didn’t mind it by lunch, snack and dinner. The girls loved it (we had plenty left over for dinner).
Throughout the week, Dave and I drank a lot of water. We flavored it with cucumbers, lemon and mint, and then tangerines and mint. Totally refreshing and made the transition from Coke to water more bearable!
RESULTS: I feel good, pleased with the results for the most part. I was disappointed {and a little baffled} that I actually gained half a pound yesterday, but overall I was happy with the week. I lost 6.5 lbs and Dave lost 10.7 lbs this past week. This ended up being a good jump-start for us. {And is it my imagination, or is my belly a little flatter?}

I will admit…Looking back on the week, it was not “horrible” with the exception of banana day. Even now that the week is over, I still have to ask, “How can anyone only eat bananas all day?”……..Great work baby, keep it up!
