Farmhouse Fresh {A Wishlist}

The grass is always greener….

 So they say.  It seems like no one is every completely satisfied with where they are.  Including me.  Don’t get me wrong…I love our new house.  Since we built it, it has many things I love.  But yet I still manage to peruse Pinterest, ogling farmhouses that I don’t live in, pining after vintage items that have no place in our current home. {Click on images for sources}

I think ultimately, we are an old farmhouse kind of family.  Everything we are drawn to in the interior decorating realm points to shabby chic/vintage.

Thank goodness for the invention of Pinterest and DIY bloggers!

And recently, we found a couple of vintage shops nearby that we just adore! Marigolds is a treasure trove of antique and unique finds.  Eye candy everywhere.  Jayna and Sue Sue played a long game of “I Spy” while exploring all of the knick knacks, while Dave and I drooled over the old shutters, doors, window frames…even kitchen sinks.

Next up was Vintage South….they upcycle reclaimed wood and refinish and repurpose antique wood items.  We wanted everything! Every. Single. Thing.  But by far, our favorite were their custom refurbished Lineberry Carts.

But for now, we’ll just have to dream.  And someday, we will get our farmhouse {and hopefully the grass will be green!}.

Comments

  1. Talk to me about some antiques at our house you may have!

  2. That was a fun day…enjoyed all the “pretties” and the “oldies” and some things I used to have that are considered antique (ie. plastic banjo without the strings).

  3. Emily Secules says:

    Never give up the dream…I saw this wonderful Victorian house on Main Street in Hughesville, Pennsylvania when I was 19 years old and on my first date with Mr. Secules. I went on to marry him a year later, raise six children in the suburbs of Washington, move internationally twice, and now, 33 years later, I live in this dream of a house! I never would have guessed then that I would end up here.
