{A Handmade Holiday} Easy Gift Ideas

As you know, we are teaching not one, but two Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University courses this year.  And we are attempting to pay off our house early and save up for a new car.  So.  Needless to say, not only are we watching every penny, but we are teaching all of our FPU “students” to do the same thing.  And everyone knows that Christmas gifts are about giving from the heart….not just stuff.

So, I thought maybe I’d share some of my research with you for some of my gift giving ideas this Christmas.  I was looking for handmade items that don’t cost much and don’t take a ton of time to make, but will make the recipient smile and appreciate the time it took to think of them.  Please do me a favor and click on the source below each picture to go to that individual’s website to see the tutorials and more information.  And as always, if you are going to pin anything, please pin from the source’s website, not mine. Thanks!

I actually had the kids make a version of this wreath a couple of years ago for grandparents.  I didn’t even use a wreath form {as the site suggests}, but just glued the paper circles to each other.  BIG hit!  Really, anything with your kids’ cute mugs on it will be a hit with grandparents!!

The next tutorial is a little more involved, but something I’ve always wanted to learn how to do.  I love “old” looking signs with Bible verses or old hymns on them.

Everyone can use a new monogrammed door hanger.  And this one is so easy and cheap, anyone could make it.  Swap out the ribbon and it could be great for spring, fall or Christmas.

And finally, here’s my tutorial from last Christmas for a Canvas heart garland….great for on the tree at Christmas, or as mantle decoration at Valentine’s Day….or any day!  Does require some very simple sewing!
