Happy 3rd Birthday Jayna!

Dear Jayna,

It is hard to believe that you are three years old today!  I remember when you were born…you were such an easy baby!  You smiled as soon as you were born, and Oh! Your hair!  What beautiful hair you have always had!

You were so good to us newbie parents, sleeping through the night and eating well!  I had people stop me all the time out in public to compliment you.  You were the friendliest, most beautiful baby they had ever seen! (See? It wasn’t just me who thought so!)

And you have always been such a little ham!  You remind me of Loo Loo when she was little.  You love making faces, being silly and looking at yourself in the mirror!

Jayna, you already have such a kind soul.  You make friends very easily, and have always been good at sharing your toys.  You can be very sensitive though….you sometime will get upset just because someone else is crying!  We still have to monitor what you see on TV very closely, because if a character is upset-you start crying too!  And what a little tattle-tale you can be!  You come home from school with stories of the “bad boys.”  I know exactly who sat in time out, who didn’t share, and who had accidents in school each day!

I am so proud of your short little life already!  You never cease to amaze me with your smart-alec comments that most would only think could come out of a 12 year old’s mouth!  You are so smart, and are so independent….insisting on doing everything yourself.  I can’t believe that not only do you know all of your letters, sounds and numbers…you can also copy almost all of the letters of the alphabet and write your name!  And aren’t you a child of the times…you can work my smartphone better than I can!!  And although we certainly have our “toddler” moments, you are truly a joy to be around (most of the time!).

I love how kind you are to your little sister….you always have her needs in mind and are quick to babysit her or help feed her.  You are so gentle (most of the time) and so affectionate with her!  I hope you two are always best friends and continue to help and love each other unconditionally.

Jayna, your love for God makes my soul so glad….although you may not know what it means completely, your heart is so pure!  I love and admire how you crave knowledge about God and how appreciative you are already for all He has given you!  I’m always so touched when I catch you praying with Elly, or when I see you helping a friend or showing your gratitude.

Long story short, I can’t believe you are already three years old….and I can’t believe you are only three years old!  It has been such fun watching you grow so far, and I can’t wait to continue watching you turn into a kind, smart, beautiful little girl!  Happy Birthday Buggy!  I love you!

Love, Mommy

Milestones

I don’t have a ton to say today.  Jayna has worn me out….she asks “Why” after everything I say.  And comes up with her own questions when I don’t say anything!

“Mom, what would happen if we drove in the grass instead of the road?”  “Mom, why do kitty cats have whiskers?” “Mom, what happens on Tuesday.”  “Mom, what do caterpillars eat?”  “Mom, why did Rudolph have a red nose?  Why can’t he have a white nose?”  and so on…..

Whew!  It’s exhausting!

But, we have reached several milestones this week.  First of all, Amelia is 4 months old…and I managed to remember to take her photos on time (sorta).

Amelia also rode in the stroller for the first time (sitting up, not in her carrier).  She loved it!

Jayna has finally mastered her tricycle.  She probably would have done this a long time ago, but I have been a little slack on working with her on it during the day.

Loo Loo is still working on her tricycle skills.

Have a great weekend!

Too Much Drive Through

As I was fixing breakfast for Buggy, I asked her what she would like to drink with her cereal.  She replied:

” Large Mocha Frappe.  No whip, but I still want the chocolate sauce.  Oh, and a straw and a lid.  Thanks.”

Hmmm…guess I should lay off the Micky D’s.

Baby Amelia is on her way!

Breaking News!  I got scheduled for an induction this morning, so Dave, Loo Loo and I are at the hospital right now!  Mom Mom and GP arrived last night and with Papaw and Sue Sue, they will entertain Buggy today until we give them a call that Amelia has officially made her debut! I’ll keep you posted this week (literally, with pictures!) and I’ve written a couple of How-To posts and gotten a guest poster to keep you entertained while I am concentrating on baby for a few days!  So, keep in touch, leave me some love and I’ll be back soon!

P.S. In the meantime, here’s how our family spent our last day as a family of three (four, really, with Loo Loo!)! We went to the Lowcountry Children’s Museum!

I’ve Been Featured…and some Silly Pictures!

First of all, I am soooooo excited to have my first feature on another blog!  My tutorial from last week about the matching onesie and bib was featured yesterday on Nothing But Country!

Nothing But Country

Call me a dork, but it’s exciting to feel like I’m finally becoming part of the blogging community, and it’s more than just my family reading my stuff! =) (not that I don’t appreciate your support, Family!!)  So, because I have nothing better to do with my time right now (ummm…build  a house, move, have a baby, to say the least!)….I’m working hard at redesigning my site a little and adding some custom touches (thanks to Bets’ artistic skillz), and hope to increase my following in the coming months!  I’ll even have some giveaways for my readers…so stay tuned and bear with me amongst the chaos of the next month or so!

In the meantime, enjoy what Loo Loo, Buggy and I played with today.  Too bad I have a PC (for now) or else we’d be playing with Mac’s Photobooth all the time!  We haven’t laughed so hard in a looong time!

Jayna’s idea of a funny face before we started “tweaking”

Is it just me, or do we have a slight overbite?

Jayna looks like one of those Precious Moments Dolls!

Happy Wednesday, y’all!

Ballerinatards and Baby Gear

Buggy’s favorite outfit lately is a leotard, ballet slippers and a tutu.  She calls her ensemble her “ballerinatard.”  As in,

“Mommy, where is my ballerinatard?”
“You mean your leotard?”
“Yea, my ballerinatard.”

And then she dances.  Of course she stops every time I get out the camcorder or camera, so I have no evidence of such dances.  But she DOES dance.  In a style that could only be fashioned after one of her parents (you know what I mean, Loo!).  Lately, its been a cross between the Running Man and the Shake Your Booty dance.  =)   Shhh don’t tell her, but I was able to capture a quick moment of The Dance before she saw me and collapsed on to the chair!

Buggy has also been helping me nest….as best as I can, anyway,  with a  partially packed house.  This week we got the infant carrier and bathtub out of storage to clean up.  I also was sooo fortunate to score a FREE bassinet from my local Mom’s Swap.  Jayna (with the help of LooLooBaby  and Steelers Bear, respectively) made sure each item was in working condition for Amelia.

I was informed that the pegs in the bathtub picture are bubbles!

In other baby news, I am officially 36 weeks along and headed to my first weekly doctor’s appointment.  Wish me luck, it only gets more fun from here! =)

Mama-aahhhh Day, Linky Party, and Little Angels

I was soooo happy to have a day for myself today!  I finally was able to use my gift card to the spa to get a much-needed haircut…and then an impromptu facial later in the day.  Also went Targeting and Dollar-Storing for some projects for Buggy to do in the car (hoping to get some pics up of the final products tomorrow or Friday), on the way to TN on Saturday.  Don’t ask why I am starting projects, packing boxes, sewing bags, attempting to finish outfits, cooking, etc. all THIS week for once, when we are leaving at the crack of dawn on Saturday for vacation!

Anyhooo….I needed A DAY.  So I took one! =)  And it was wonderful!  Thanks to Buggy and Davey-poo for supplying my Mama-ahh Day!  Much appreciated!

In other news, I joined a linky party with my pants tutorial this week….check it out (click on the below picture and then on any of the pictures on that site to see everyone’s projects!).  Enjoy!

NightOwlCrafting

Also, I”ve been saving this precious little clip for a day that I didn’t have much to say.  These little angels are JaynaBug and her cousin Madison, who we recently saw in Georgia.  They were swinging and singing Jesus Loves Me before the sillies took over!  I love that they have His Joy down in their Hearts!!

I think this might be our local Walmart!

Don’t get me wrong.  I love Walmart.  They have great prices, good coupon policies and the yummiest sugar cookies made three days ago.  I do hate battling their parking lot, but in general…I love Walmart.  And there is ALWAYS someone interesting to look at while shopping (lately it has been ME with a big ‘ole preggo belly, no wedding ring on my sausage fingers, and a screaming 2 year old in tow), here is an excellent example!  Thanks Megan!

(and yes, it is 6 minutes long, but quite worth it as I think I saw three people I knew in the video!!!)

Have a great holiday weekend!

Knock Knock….

So Jayna was sitting at the breakfast table with Mom Mom and me in Maryland.  Mom Mom and I were doing breakfasty type things (cerealing, morning papering, etc.) and Jayna was talking away as only she can do.  She is perfectly understandable….word-wise, that is….but half the time she is commenting on some random little topic in her two year old brain.  Needless to say, I have no idea what she is talking about half of the time, so a lot of “uh, huh”-ing and “oh yeah?”-ing comes out of my mouth.

Back to my story….Mom Mom and I were breakfasting and Jayna was blah-blah-blah-ing and neither of us were really listening.  Then after one of our particular “oh, yeah?”s….Jayna stops and says, “Mom Mom….that was a JOKE!”  Busted. (Ok, maybe you had to be there, but it was soooo funny and the story has been repeated to friends/family several times since then!)

She thinks she’s Little Miss Thang! =)

And enter THE TERRIBLE TWOS!

Just kidding.  Nothing terrible about it (yet!).  But then again, the day is young!…. My little Buggy is now officially two.  Here are some things she feels quite strongly about.

1. Elly (a stuffed elephant beanie baby).

2. Her new boots.

3. Wearing her new boots.  As much as possible.

4. NOT wearing pants.

5. Cake. Singing. Parties.  All things Birthday.

6.  “Talking” to Loo Loo on Skype.

7.  Being a biker chick.

8.  Practicing to become a BIG SISTER!

That’s right folks! Come August of this year, JaynaBug will be a Big Sister!  She is very excited, and calls it Baby Burrito.  We pray for it every night, and sing to it through my belly button!  I can’t wait until it becomes more concrete for her as I begin to show!  Stay tuned….
