Parents of the Year

See?  We could be worse!  Sad to say that I think that this is hilarious….especially the kids at the end who ended up getting onto the Jimmy Kimmel Show.

Bet you laughed too…all while thinking how terrible it is to lie to your kids!  Considering we get a major meltdown simply by telling Jayna to put her shoes on….I can only imagine how she would have reacted!!!

Mama-aahhhh Day, Linky Party, and Little Angels

I was soooo happy to have a day for myself today!  I finally was able to use my gift card to the spa to get a much-needed haircut…and then an impromptu facial later in the day.  Also went Targeting and Dollar-Storing for some projects for Buggy to do in the car (hoping to get some pics up of the final products tomorrow or Friday), on the way to TN on Saturday.  Don’t ask why I am starting projects, packing boxes, sewing bags, attempting to finish outfits, cooking, etc. all THIS week for once, when we are leaving at the crack of dawn on Saturday for vacation!

Anyhooo….I needed A DAY.  So I took one! =)  And it was wonderful!  Thanks to Buggy and Davey-poo for supplying my Mama-ahh Day!  Much appreciated!

In other news, I joined a linky party with my pants tutorial this week….check it out (click on the below picture and then on any of the pictures on that site to see everyone’s projects!).  Enjoy!

Also, I”ve been saving this precious little clip for a day that I didn’t have much to say.  These little angels are JaynaBug and her cousin Madison, who we recently saw in Georgia.  They were swinging and singing Jesus Loves Me before the sillies took over!  I love that they have His Joy down in their Hearts!!

I think this might be our local Walmart!

Don’t get me wrong.  I love Walmart.  They have great prices, good coupon policies and the yummiest sugar cookies made three days ago.  I do hate battling their parking lot, but in general…I love Walmart.  And there is ALWAYS someone interesting to look at while shopping (lately it has been ME with a big ‘ole preggo belly, no wedding ring on my sausage fingers, and a screaming 2 year old in tow), here is an excellent example!  Thanks Megan!

(and yes, it is 6 minutes long, but quite worth it as I think I saw three people I knew in the video!!!)

Have a great holiday weekend!

Falling into the Fountain!

Can I just rant for a moment?  So I was about to check my yahoo today, and on the main yahoo page, the feature story was this.  It’s kind of a long video clip, so here’s what it is in a nutshell.  The link is a video interview with a woman who got caught on a security camera falling into a mall fountain while texting (see the actual footage above).  Listen, I feel bad for the lady, because I’m sure it was extremely embarrassing, but the video is  pretty funny.

But the thing that gets me, is that apparently she is planning on suing the mall (where she also happens to work), because no one came to help her.  She says that apparently security came 20 minutes later, but that wasn’t good enough for her.  But, if you watch the actual security tape footage, as she falls in, there is no one around!  There is a couple of people walking, who all happen to go in a store right before she falls, and there is a janitor mopping or something in the foreground, who has his back to her.  Soooooo, is it really the mall’s fault that no one helped her?  Also, she even admits (and you can see it!) that she immediately gets right back out of the fountain and walks away….so she didn’t even wait for help (not that she needed any!).

So is it the principle of the matter that the mall “didn’t care” or does she just want some moolah for the embarrassment?  Because after all, it’s certainly not her fault she fell into a fountain!

And the moral of the story is, (and a direct quote from the woman who fell….) “Do not text and walk!”

Sick Day!

My house has been sick. Buggy with a cold first, which she so graciously gave to Dave and me, and then she had some sort of stomach bug yesterday as well. Dave and I are not quite as resilient as we thought as our colds have kind of knocked us on our bums this week.  And yes, I have a two year old, so we say “bums” in our house.  So today has been kind of a chill day, complete with whole pots of macaroni and cheese and four hours naps.  Oh, and mindless youtube-ing.  I started out wanting to watch some of the dance scences from Glee and remembered this one…..

which, of course, caused me to search Flash Mobs.  And so I found this one….

And then this spin-off of a Flash Freeze.

And I don’t know, but there is just something comforting about the way all these people can work together for a few minutes to create something amazing….makes you wonder what we could really accomplish in the world if we all put our heads together……
