When Mama’s happy…..

I am so very blessed to have some wonderful ladies in my life…not only do I have the most wonderful-est of Mother-in-Laws who happens to live right up the road from me, I  also have a terrific sister (who, despite not having any children of her own yet….is a second mom to my kids in our house!!!).  Not to mention our ”Far Away Grandmas” (as Jayna calls them), Granna and Grandma Gloria, who are Dave’s grandmothers.   And I am so. so lucky to be able to spend this particular Mother’s Day with the superwoman who raised me, AND the wonderwoman who raised her! (Mom Mom and Nana!)

I just wanted to give a little shout out to all of you to thank you for all you have done throughout the years, and continue to do on a daily basis!  I may be biased, but I think you did a superb job of raising your kids, grandkids and greatgrandkids…we all turned out quite nicely! =)

And I’m so, so happy that we’ve been able to enjoy Sue Sue (and Papaw) living so close to us for these past few years.  I’ve loved watching Jayna and Amelia growing up to be so close to you.  And I sincerely appreciate all of the free babysitting! =)

And although we live Oh-So far away, Mom Mom, we are so glad we are able to see you so often!  I love watching the relationship between you and the girls grow deeper and deeper each time we get to see you.  And thank you for being there for me whenever I need you….I think I’ve turned into a pretty humble great mom, and I learned everything I know about being a mom, from you!

As for my own thoughts on being a mom….well, if you read my blog, you know most of them!  It’s the reason why God put me on Earth.  I found this little     poem a long time ago and I keep it on my desktop and read it quite often (sorry, source unknown….feel free to leave me a comment if you know where it’s from!!)

Of course there are challenges and frustrations to being a mom, but it is SO WORTH it.  If you have kids, you know what I mean!

Jayna and Amelia, you are the lights of my life, my reason for being…..and I LOVE YOU!  Thanks for letting me be your Mama!

What is your favorite memory of your mom?  Leave me a comment!
